The Itinerary

We’re still putting all of the pieces together with the planning process, but this is the page where you’ll be able to find all of the specifics about the 3-day itinerary.

For now, this is a total guess on what to expect, but we plan to make it a very similar experience.

Further down the page, you’ll be able to find a recommended itinerary for the rest of your stay in the U.K.

The (Unofficial) Wedding Itinerary

  • Upon arrival, we’ll have English tea and traditional sandwiches waiting for you (check in is at 12:00 PM). Check in to your rooms and settle in. Gather on the lawn for an afternoon of games and country pursuits (i.e. highland games, archery, falconry, walks).

The library bar will be open and we’ll have a big, casual dinner next to the party barn. We'll have a bon fire and maybe some light musical entertainment.

  • Breakfast will be setup in the dining room and lunch will be served later on. Take this day to relax, enjoy the sites, or sign up for a little outing to Stone Henge or other local sites.

The wedding will be in the late afternoon or evening, starting with a Celtic Hand Fasting ceremony, cocktail hour, formal dinner reception, and end the night in the party barn and pub.

  • Brunch is served. Casual morning and full of reminiscing. Lunch will be a typical English feast (like fish n chips, shepherds pies, or something similar).

Everyone departs for their own adventures.  Check out is at 4:00 PM.

Recommended Extended Itinerary

(Optional)

We’re going to Scotland after the wedding, and you’re more than welcome to follow our itinerary!

Fly into London, England and spend 2-nights there to get rid of the jet lag (and adjust to the new timezone). We’ll use this time to explore the best of London: cozy pubs, live music or shows, find cute shops, and eat their incredible street food.

Day 1-3:

Take the train from Kings Cross Station, Paddington Station, or any of their airport stations for a 2 hour ride SW to Yeovil. This station is 5 minutes from Brympton House. Option to drive as well (just remember drivers are on the left side of the road). Party on for the wedding celebrations!

Day 3-6:

Take the high speed bullet train from London to Edinburgh (4h30m). Arrive in our favorite city in Scotland and settle in. This is a wonderful place to just explore by foot, do gin or whiskey tastings, do tours, and pop into the shops and restaurants.

Day 6:

At this point, we’re likely to rent a car to thoroughly enjoy the countryside. Scotland has stunning sites like Glencoe, rustic castles, lochs, little towns, stone circles, and the full charm of highlands.

Day 7-10:

Fun Fact: Abby named her dog Skye after the Isle of Skye because she loved it there so much.

We would fly home on day 10 or 11 from Scotland, or more likely get a direct, non-stop flight from Manchester or London. If you’re interested in joining along for this itinerary, please let us know!
